Masonville is a strong fit if you

    • Work at Western or University Hospital and want a short commute
    • Want shopping, dining and a movie theatre close to home
    • Would walk the Medway Valley forest trails on weekends
    • Want to get around north London by bus
    • Want a 3 to 4+ bedroom family home on a mature street

    Look elsewhere if you

    • Want a quiet village feel. Richmond and Fanshawe Park get busy at rush hour
    • Want a brand new subdivision. Sunningdale, just north, is a better match
    • Mind student rentals. Streets closest to Western have some
    • Mind change. Taller buildings are planned near the mall

Something else on your mind? Call or text Mackenzie and Dan at 519-670-3027.

Is Masonville a good place to live?

For hospital and university staff, families and anyone who wants shopping close by, yes. Masonville Place is the anchor, Western and University Hospital sit just to the south, and the Medway Valley trails are a short trip west. It is less suited to anyone who wants a quiet village feel or a brand new subdivision.

Where is Masonville in London, Ontario?

It's in London's north end, with Richmond Street and Fanshawe Park Road at its heart. People draw the lines differently, but it usually stretches south to Windermere Road and Western University, and takes in Old Masonville, west of Richmond out to Medway Creek.

How much does a house in Masonville cost?

No sold average is published for Masonville. The median asking price in late August 2026 was about $650,000. Detached homes on established streets typically run about $750,000 to $1.2 million. Condos start near $420,000, and townhomes sit between $500,000 and $700,000. Older apartment condos were listed from about $250,000.

    What schools serve Masonville?

For the younger grades there's Masonville Public School, Stoneybrook Public School and St. Kateri Catholic School, while Old Masonville is served by St. Catherine of Siena. Teens usually go to A.B. Lucas Secondary (public) or Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary. Boundaries change street by street, so always confirm with the board for a specific address.

Are the houses in Masonville old?

London annexed this farmland in 1961, and most houses went up between the 1960s and 1990s. Streets near the mall were largely built in the 1980s, and newer condos and apartments are now rising close to Masonville Place.

Is Masonville good for people who work at Western or University Hospital?

Yes. Both are right on its south side, about 5 minutes by car, 10 by bike or 15 by bus.

    Is Masonville good for transit?

Yes. The bus terminal at Masonville Place is the main transit stop for north London, express routes included.

How long does it take to get downtown from Masonville?

It's about 15 minutes by car when traffic is light, or about 30 minutes by bus. Richmond Street is a straight shot downtown, but it backs up at busy times.

What is being built in Masonville?

Under the Masonville Secondary Plan, taller mixed use buildings are permitted near Richmond and Fanshawe Park. Across from the mall, the Hyland Centre site has a proposal for towers up to 22 storeys.

    Why is it called Masonville?

Its name honours Robert Mason, postmaster from 1874 to 1881, whose hotel held the local post office. Earlier, the spot was known as McMartin's Corners.

What is the postal code for Masonville?

Masonville addresses use the N6G and N5X postal code prefixes. Most of the area is listed in Ward 7 in the City of London.
