    How Lambeth got here

    1. 1809

Abraham Patrick arrives from Niagara Falls and takes 200 acres on the West Talbot Road.

    2. 1853

A township plan names the crossroads St. Andrews. Planked roads earn it the nickname Slab Town.

    3. 1857

Postmaster John Chalmers has the post office renamed Lambeth.

    4. 1988

Local leaders form the Town of Westminster to resist annexation by London.

    5. 1993

On January 1, Lambeth becomes part of the City of London. You still pass old town signs driving in.

    6. 2009

Lambeth celebrates 200 years since settlement.

Something else on your mind? Call or text Mackenzie and Dan at 519-670-3027.

Is Lambeth a good place to live?

For families, highway commuters and anyone who wants a small town feel with big lots, yes. Lambeth has Main Street, Harvestfest, a community centre with an arena and library, and Highway 402 about five minutes away. It is less suited to condo buyers, transit users or anyone who wants a quick trip downtown.

Is Lambeth part of London, Ontario?

Yes. Until January 1, 1993 it was a police village in Westminster Township. That day it joined the City of London, but plenty of locals still call it a town of its own.

Where is Lambeth in London, Ontario?

You'll find Lambeth at London's southwest tip, sitting just above Highway 402, with Colonel Talbot Road on one side and Wonderland Road South roughly on the other. The village core sits on Main Street at Colonel Talbot Road.

How much does a house in Lambeth cost?

In August 2026 the typical Lambeth sale averaged about $881,000. Expect new townhouses from the mid $500,000s, roughly $650,000 to $800,000 in the village core, and about $1 million to over $3.5 million for luxury custom builds.

Is it a good time to buy in Lambeth?

As of August 2026, Lambeth sat on almost 11 months of supply with a 24.8% sales to new listings ratio. London overall was at 5.1 months and 39.4%. Buyers here get more to pick from and more room to negotiate.

    What schools serve Lambeth?

For public elementary, kids attend Lambeth Public School or the newer White Pine Public School, and most teens head to Saunders Secondary School. You'll also find Catholic and French language schools close by. White Pine's opening shifted boundaries, so always confirm with the school board.

What is the postal code for Lambeth?

Lambeth addresses use the N6P postal code prefix. Lambeth is part of Ward 9 in the City of London.

    Why is it called Lambeth?

Postmaster John Chalmers gave the post office the name Lambeth in 1857, borrowing it from a borough in London, England. Before that, locals called it Wahoo, The Junction, St. Andrews or Slab Town.

    What is Lambeth Harvestfest?

Every September, volunteers put on Harvestfest: a parade along Main Street, pancakes in the morning, a softball tournament, a community barbecue and fireworks.

How close is Lambeth to the highway?

Very close. Highway 402 hugs the south side of Lambeth, about five minutes from Main Street by car.

    Are there condos in Lambeth?

Very few. Lambeth is mostly detached homes, and new townhouses are the main lower priced option.

What is being built in Lambeth?

More luxury and executive subdivisions keep going up. Colonel Talbot Road now has sidewalks and bike paths after its rebuild, and one proposal along it would permit apartments of up to six storeys.
